Ankasy Lodge is situated on the south-west coast of Madagascar (Mozambique channel) 80 km north of Tulear city on a stunning white sandy beach, front of a lagoon blue turquoise and green emerald. It consists of just 9 spacious and cozy bungalows of 100 mq each. Off the beaten tracks, its location is fascinating and so is the 4-hour coastal trail with 4wd vehicle to reach the hotel. The unspoiled nature of this coastal stretch is dominated by spiny forest, habitat to many endemic plants of Madagascar; by amazing white sandy beaches dotted with fishermen villages of Vezo people. Unusual destination and far away from mass tourism it is ideal for nature lovers.
In its Dynamic Formula Ankasy Lodge includes water and land activities, as sailing on traditional pirogues, hobby cat trips, kyte-surf, snorkeling, water-sky, whale watching trips to admire humpback whales from july to september, jeep trips to meet Vezo people or to Fianamarasay lagoon. Since Ankasy is in the middle of a very dry region, the Lodge opted for a environment friendly management of the resource: running fresh water is provided in tanks brought by Vezo pirogues from the nearby village, hot water by solar trunks or heated buckets for a down to earth lesson in the management of this precious commodity.
Bungalows are equipped with 24/7 solar energy, LED lighting, electrical outlets to plug or charge devices (except electric hairdryers).
